Ça pousse offers a workshop series designed for primary schools to complement their curriculum. While the program is designed around gardening activities, it also includes topics related to the environment, agriculture, ecology and science in general.

The workshops were developed in such a way that the participants acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge that is directly applicable in gardening processes. For a complete list of our workshops, click here.

We believe that primary schools can become the center of a community of students and their parents, teachers, school administration, neighbors and surrounding organizations. Gardening is a great way to gather all these actors around a fun and rewarding activity and thus create links within the community. Make your school the meeting place of your neighborhood with fun gardening activities!

The workshops usually take place after classes or one the weekend.

The Ça pousse! Certificate program, “From the Seed to the Plate”, was designed to give young people a better understanding of the food system, plant life cycle and healthy eating through hands-on, interactive workshops. During the series, students put their hands in the soil to discover gardening and the world of plants.

By growing their own fresh foods, they have the chance to observe the transformation of plants from seed to plate.

During the series, we have assessments / games to measure student progress and learning outcomes. At the end of the series of workshops, each student receives the Ça pousse! Certificate to highlight their learning and success.

Ça pousse! and the Boîte À Lunch program have come together to offer “Choose Your Own Adventure Recipes” workshops for primary schools! These cooking workshops are specifically designed to introduce young people to cooking and healthy eating.

The objectives of the series are: 1. Strengthen youth food security. 2. Build basic cooking skills among our young participants. 3. Promote the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits and reflexes. 4. Build self-confidence and food self-sufficiency for young participants. 5. Facilitate openness to cultural diversity through food. 6. Place great value on cooperation and solidarity. 7. Cultivate critical consumers who are sensitive to the socio-environmental challenges of responsible food. 8. Improve skills, knowledge and behaviors around healthy food.
